The Art of Cool Festival (AOCFEST), a locally run, three-day music festival, will be held on April 24 - 26, 2015 in Durham, North Carolina with a free kick-off party on Friday, April 24, complete with live music and a food truck rodeo at Durham Central Park. The festival will launch a Kickstarter campaign on Monday, Aug. 11 to raise operational funds. AOCFEST’s goal is to raise $35,000 by Friday, Sept. 19. All funds raised will help book musical talent for the festival.
Rewards for donating range from a free music download for pledging $10, 1-day wristbands that include admission for two people to all club shows and the headliner venue for pledging $100, to guaranteed front-row seats at the festival headliners for pledging $1,000. These rewards also include admission to club venues, which include the Durham Convention Center, Durham Armory, Motorco, Pinhook and the PSI Theatre.
The festival will host two outdoor stages and five indoor venues and will include more than 30 performances from local and national jazz musicians.
This year, the VIP experience will include guaranteed reserved seating at every venue with a RSVP and an exclusive VIP brunch on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the ReverbNation headquarters in Durham. To partake in the VIP experience, individuals can pledge one of the VIP reward options on Kickstarter, starting at $250, or purchase a VIP wristband after the completion of the campaign.
