The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham recently appointed Anna Lawson director of special services and promoted two members of the senior executive staff: Don Ball to director of operations, food and beverage and Daniel Lotz to director of operations, rooms division. These appointments will help continue to ensure a mark of excellence for hotel guests.
Lawson recently filled the role of director of special services when Peggy Baker retired after 25 years of service with the inn. In her new role, Lawson manages Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club's Special Guest Program, ensuring all special guests receive exceptional, personalized, and confidential service.
Ball and Lotz each will play a larger and more active role in the inn's day-to-day operations, assisting the Inn's General Manager Randy Kolls. With the 24-hour a day needs of a large luxury hotel it is important to have seasoned staffers in the chain of command and Ball and Lotz fill this role perfectly. Ball oversees food and beverage services and its staff throughout the hotel, including the Fairview Dining Room, Vista Restaurant, Bull Durham Bar, Nineteen Golf Grill, in-room dining services and catering operations. Additionally, Ball and Lotz will celebrate service anniversaries with the hotel in August: Ball 16 years and Lotz 10 years.
